If there's an existing switch controlling nothing (a switched outlet or a blank), we may be able to work from that. A completely new circuit run from the panel is a specialist electrician job. We'll assess and tell you exactly what category it falls into when we look at it.
Can I use any dimmer switch with my LED lights?
Not all dimmers work with all LEDs. We'll check the dimmer's compatibility list against your bulb brand before installing, an incompatible dimmer can cause flickering, buzzing, or shortened bulb life. If you already bought a dimmer, bring the box so we can check it.
How heavy a fixture can you hang from a standard ceiling box?
Standard round boxes are rated for fixtures up to 35 lbs. Ceiling fans and fixtures over 35 lbs require a fan-rated or chandelier-rated box. We inspect the existing box before hanging anything heavy and replace it if needed.
